A rim lock is a type of door security system that is fitted to the surface of the door rather than being morticed in. The rim lock uses a key to open the door, and is fitted with a surface mounted keep that should be fitted in the rim of the door and should not be visible from the outside.

The From the Anvil Traditional Rim Lock is suited to older-style doors with a raised moulding around the edge of the door and to doorways that don't have a locking system on the frame. This rim lock is easy to install, and is available in a wide range of finishes and sizes.

  • The From the Anvil weighty rim lock range is cast from solid iron and polished to leave a smooth surface.
  • The From the Anvil rim knob range is used in conjunction with their rim locks to provide an attractive, high quality finish to any period town house or country property.
  • The product is handed and therefore care needs to be taken when choosing the correct hand. If your door is inward opening and hinged on the left then a left hand rim lock is required.
  • All the From the Anvil rim locks are KA.
  • Supplied with matching SS wood screws.
